Welcome to Fourth Grade
Dear Fourth Grader:
We have planned many exciting activities for the start of school in September. We want you to
be ready to get started, so we have made a list of supplies that you will need throughout the
Year.
This summer you will read Because of Winn Dixie by Kate Dicamillo and you will choose either The Hero Who Lived Two Doors Down by Sharon Robinson OR Who Was Abraham Lincoln by Janet Pascal. You will have a simple quiz on these two books and complete an in class book project when we return in September.
Your summer math requirement includes the following 3rd grade skill practice on ixl.com:
Place Value - A1, A2, A3
Addition - G1, G5, G9
Ordering and Comparing - B3, B4, B5
Subtraction - J1, J2, J3
Rounding - C1, C2
Mixed Operations - K1, K4, K7
Estimate Sums - D1, D3
Estimate Sums and Differences - F1, F3
Multiplication - T2, T6, T7
Mixed Operations - Z2, Z6
Money - V V 6, V V 9
You may bring a snack and a drink (no cans or bottles) for the first half day of school.

• (1) Crayons or Markers (no paint markers)
• Merriam-Webster Spanish – English Dictionary
• Clear contact paper to cover all soft cover workbooks (3 rolls would be advisable)
